The Acorns are back on the road this Tuesday, 13th October, as Hartpury travel to face Sporting Club Inkberrow in the Southern League Division One South.
With the season continuing to take shape, Hartpury will be looking to bounce back from their recent defeat to Dorchester Town and return to winning ways against the Eagles.
Ahead of the Acorns' trip to Inkberrow, here is everything you need to know about the hosts.
THE OPPOSITION – SPORTING CLUB INKBERROW
STADIUM – Sands Road
NICKNAME – The Eagles
FOUNDED – 1978
MANAGER – Umit Eminoglu
LEAGUE – Southern League Division One South
WHAT'S HAPPENED SINCE?
Sporting Club Inkberrow finished 11th in the Southern League Division One South last season, following an impressive first campaign at Step 4 after earning promotion through the Hellenic League play-offs.
Sporting Club Inkberrow have enjoyed a positive run of form in recent weeks, recording three wins in their last five fixtures as they look to build momentum in the Southern League Division One South.
The Eagles have recorded back-to-back victories in their most recent outings, securing a convincing 4–0 win away to Portland before following it up with a 3–1 victory over Shaftesbury. They also claimed an impressive 3–1 away win against Westbury United earlier in September.
However, Inkberrow have experienced a few setbacks, suffering a narrow 2–1 defeat away to Hungerford Town and playing out a 1–1 draw against Melksham Town.
With confidence growing following consecutive victories, Inkberrow will be looking to continue their positive run of form when Hartpury travel to Sands Road on Tuesday night.
IN THE DUGOUT - UMIT EMINOGLU
Inkberrow manager Umit Eminoglu has an interesting background in professional football, having spent 11 years in Aston Villa's academy before moving to Turkey to pursue his playing career.
Eminoglu made his professional debut for Gençlerbirliği in 2013 and went on to represent Turkey at under-18 level, earning three international caps. He later moved into coaching, joining Kidderminster Harriers in 2022 before working with Walsall's youth setup in 2023.
His experience across academy football, the professional game and coaching provides an interesting backstory ahead of Tuesday night's fixture.
PLAYER TO WATCH - CONNOR STANLEY
Stanley comes into this fixture in strong form, having scored four goals in his last five games for Inkberrow.
The forward has been a key contributor to the Eagles' recent performances, finding the net against Shaftesbury, Hungerford Town and Melksham Town, while currently leading the club's goalscoring charts.
With Stanley continuing to pose a threat in the final third, Hartpury will need to keep a close eye on the forward as they look to extend their winning run on Tuesday night.
