Hartpury FC played out a goalless draw at Loughborough Students FC on Tuesday, as their pre-season continued.
The Acorns started brightly in this pre-season match-up, with Billy Osborn finding Noah Coates inside the area, but Coates’ effort was deflected gratefully into the goalkeeper’s hands, inside the opening minute.
Osborn was on hand to supply Kian Davies, on 14 minutes, but Davies could only poke his close ranged effort wide.
Three minutes later, Osborn forced a good save out of the Scholars’ goalkeeper with a driven effort from just inside the area.
The Scholars broke free on 21 minutes, but Seth Locke stood tall to turn the driven effort behind at the near post.
Loughborough continued to grow into the game and went close again on the half hour mark but saw a low effort trickle wide of the post.
Locke was called into action again on 33 minutes, smartly tipping over a driven Scholars effort, seeing the half end deadlocked.

The second period started tightly contested but it was the Acorn who went close twice with Nathan Jenkins rattling the post on 53 minutes, before Joao Silva low effort on the angle was well stopped a minute later.
The Scholars rattled the posts themselves on 56 minutes before Coates saw a headed effort loop just over the bar, three minutes later, for the Acorns.
As the game grew deeper and the heat intensified, the game began to slow up with a Davies driven free-kick heading over the bar on 79 minutes, the final piece of action of the afternoon.
The Acorns pre-season preparations continue next Tuesday with a double header, as we face Swindon Town U21’s and Brimbscombe & Thrupp.
