Hartpury 3 0 Mousehole

Vaughan scores on debut as Acorns return to winning ways during lengthy trip to Mousehole

Hartpury FC rounded off a 450-mile trip with a confident 3-0 win over Mousehole AFC at Trungle Parc on Saturday.

Goals from Drew Robinson, Billy Osborn and debutant Ethan Vaughan saw the Acorns get back to winning ways in this Southern League Div One South clash.

Mousehole had the opening shot on goal on nine minutes when the ball fell kindly to Tallan Mitchell in the box, but George Sims produced a superb block to deny the Seagulls.

The Acorns got their first sight of goal on 26 minutes when Noah Coates won the ball high before it found Billy Osborn in the area who saw a driven effort deflected wide.

The Acorns did break the deadlock in superb fashion on 30 minutes when Robinson sent a free kick into the area, which missed everyone and nestled in the bottom left corner, sending the Acorns into the break ahead.

HALF TIME – MOUSEHOLE 0-1 HARTPURY FC

The Acorns made an electric start to the second period doubling their lead in the opening minute of the half when Osborn calmly slotted his effort through the goalkeeper’s legs.

Osborn went close again moments later when he saw his volleyed effort cannon back off the underside of the crossbar.

It was 3-0 on 54 minutes when debutant, Vaughan was on hand to hammer home a low Osborn cross from close range.

On 79 minutes, the Acorns handed out a second debut to defender Connor Callow who helped see us through to back-to-back clean sheets and a big three points.

It’s a quick turnaround for the Acorns who return to the 4ED Hartpury Stadium on Tuesday night, as we welcome Portishead Town.
