Just like that the first month of the season comes to an end after a very stop start beginning to the campaign for the Acorns.
The Acorns saw just three competitive fixtures on their list following a postponement to our opening league to Slimbridge AFC and a weekend off due to the FA Cup scheduling.

FA CUP TO KICK IT OFF
The Acorns kicked off the 2026/27 season with an FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round tie against Cirencester Town.
It was a Friday night under the lights at the Talent Hire Stadium, in which the Acorns fell short in.
Despite a spirited display, a second half brace of goals for the Centurions saw the Acorns fall to a 2-0 defeat and we swiftly exited the competition.
HUNGRY TO GET STARTED
With our previously scheduled opening day game against Slimbridge postponed, the Acorns waited an extra four days to kick off the Southern League Div One South season.
It was a trip to recently relegated Hungerford Town to get us up and running in the league, but it proved to be a testing afternoon in Berkshire.
The Crusaders took a 2-0 lead before Billy Osborn opened his account for the season, taking the game into the break 2-1.
But our hosts on the day proved why they once featured in the National League South when they fired home twice more to condemn the Acorns to a 4-1 defeat.
PICKING UP THAT FIRST WIN
A response was needed by the Acorns following a two week break from action, as we geared up to face Exmouth Town in the FA Trophy.
With the game being played at our temporary home of the KMM Energy Stadium, Exmouth struck first after originally seeing Seth Locke deny them from the penalty spot early doors.
But two players who have featured heavily throughout our Hartpury Football Junior One’s programme in recent years, Kian Davies and Morgan Ewing, both opened their accounts for the season to send us 2-1 up at the break.
It was a greatly improved performance all afternoon and the tie was put to bed in second half when Louis Manning and Osborn both found the net to secure a 4-1 victory and passage into the Second Qualifying Round.
A busy September awaits the Acorns with seven games to be played, starting with a trip to newly promoted Paulton Rovers on Saturday.
