Match Preview- Mousehole AFC (H)

One last night under the lights awaits the Acorns as we prepare to welcome a travelling Mousehole AFC to the 4ED Hartpury Stadium, on Tuesday evening.

The Acorns will be in search of a first win in April, having suffered defeat in their opening three games of the final month.

Mousehole will be hoping to take one step closer to safety with the Seagulls sitting just six points above the relegation zone, with three games left to play.

Ahead of the Seagulls 226-mile trip to Gloucestershire, here is everything you need to know about our opposition.

THE OPPOSITION – MOUSEHOLE AFC

STADIUM – Interiora Trungle Parc

NICKNAME – The Seagulls

FOUNDED – 1922

MANAGER – Jake Ash

LEAGUE POSITION – 16th

LAST TIME OUT

It was a memorable 452-mile round trip down to Trungle Parc back in October, as the Acorns ran out 3-0 winners.

Drew Robinson and Billy Osborn started the scoring before debutant and Hartpury under 18’s player, Ethan Vaughan rounded off a spectacular afternoon.

That afternoon also saw Vaughan’s college and under 18’s teammate, O’Rian Reid earn more minutes within the first team, whilst Connor Callow was handed his Acorns debut.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED SINCE?

After a period of ten games without a wins, which saw the Seagulls spial into the relegation fight, Jake Ash’s side have now lost just one of their last five games.

The Seagulls head to Gloucestershire off the back of a 2-0 home defeat to Portishead Town but had previously earned valuable points against relegation rivals Falmouth Town and Melksham Town.

Ash’s side were held to a goalless draw against Melksham but secured a 2-1 victory during their trip to Falmouth, over the Easter period.

But the Seagulls so also enjoy a trip to Gloucestershire with their latest trip, just a fortnight ago, seeing them defeat Bishops Cleeve 2-1.

However, Mousehole have won just three of their last ten games on the road, as they head to the 4ED.

PLAYER TO WATCH – HAYDEN TURNER

A former Acorn himself, Hayden Turner returns to Hartpury where the goal scorer once learned and played.

Turner has been in top form as of late for the Seagulls bagging two goals in his last four games.

The attacker secured all three points in both of his sides latest away victories over Falmouth and Cleeve.
