Alltech-Hartpury Student Conference – share your research with your peers!

Hartpury College is hosting the fourth Alltech-Hartpury Conference on April 23rd, 2014

The Conference will give undergraduate and postgraduate students the opportunity to submit individual scientific papers that review emerging research within the field of Equestrian Science and, if their submission is successful, present either as a scientific poster or as an oral presentation to the Conference audience.

For the first time this year, there will be separate undergraduate and postgraduate sections. There will be a number of prizes available for the best presentations within each category, provided by Alltech – sponsors of the World Equestrian Games.

This year’s theme is ‘From One Games to Another: Looking forward to 2014’ - focusing on the Olympic legacy from London 2012 and the forthcoming World Equestrian Games being held in Normandy, France in August 2014.

Students from all over the UK will be submitting abstracts and/or watching the presentations and in 2014, the Conference has been opened up to submissions from a wider international student body to create a much more global occasion.

Guest presentations will also be delivered by scientific and equine consultant Dr David Marlin and researcher and Principle Lecturer Kathryn Nankervis and the closing address will be made by Clare Fahey, Global and Equine Pet Marketing Manager for Alltech.

This is a unique opportunity for students to share their research with an audience of their peers and gain experience in submitting and presenting at a Conference before potentially presenting to equine industry experts when they embark on their careers. The conference is open to student and staff delegates from higher education institutes across the country to come along to the Conference to watch the presentations and engage in question sessions.

A discounted early bird rate for tickets is available before March 7th, 2014.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students can submit their one-page abstract now based on their final year thesis for consideration; prospective submissions will be considered for acceptance. It is important that students discuss their submission with their supervisor before submitting.
