Cutting-edge experience as Hartpury students see the future of farming


Agriculture students at Hartpury got the chance to learn more about cutting-edge farm machinery and the latest developments and challenges facing the industry at the Discover AGCO event at the NEC in Birmingham.

Tractor and machinery manufacturer AGCO showcased their product range and involvement in agriculture by staging a manufacturer specific agricultural machinery show. This was supported by a programme of agricultural seminars from leading speakers on a range of topics.

These included black grass control, presented by BASF, CAP reform, a livestock focus, soil and water as precious resources presented by the Harper Adams Soil and Water Management Centre and machinery costs over the longer term.

The show offered students the opportunity to attend seminars , view the tractors and machinery and talk to specialists from each sector. Brands represented included Challenger, Fella, Fendt, Valtra, Massey Ferguson, Valtra and GSI crop drying and storage.
