A grand day out – from snake handling to windsurfing, Hartpury’s Summer Fair has it all
There’s now only a month to go until Hartpury throws its gates open for its biggest ever Summer Fair.
With free entry for everyone, even the family dog, the Summer Fair on Saturday, June 7th, will be an unmissable day out.
This year’s fair will offer lots of new and exciting activities for children and families. In a celebration of all that’s good about Gloucestershire, visitors will have a chance to try everything from juggling to snake handling and windsurfing to ferret racing.
Dog owners will also get the chance to enter our family dog show and have a go at the dog agility course - always firm favourites with visitors.
The action-packed arena programme, which starts at noon, will feature show jumping, sporting skills, drug detection dogs and vintage tractors.
There’s also inflatables for the kids, a wide range of stalls and games and plenty of refreshments available, including a barbecue.
“As always, we’re really looking forward to welcoming local people into the college and giving them the chance to see all of our stunning campus and the amazing facilities we have here,” said Hartpury Principal, Russell Marchant.
“We have a marquee full of local crafts, opportunities to handle exotic animals and the chance to get involved in lots of sporting activities, including taking on some of our elite athletes in a series of challenges.
“Also open to visitors this year will be our latest attraction – the fantastic walled animal garden with the chance to meet our meerkats, prairie dogs, llamas and our aviary. You might even be lucky enough to see our new baby wallaby!”
The gates open at 11.30am with the full arena programme kicking off at noon. The show closes at 4pm.
