Double first for Dymock’s Ryan at Championships at Hartpury

Ryan Gwilliam from Dymock achieved a Double First at the hugely successful Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) National Championships held at Hartpury.

Having qualified at the Mid-West Regional Championships at Marlborough in May, Ryan - a pupil at Alderman Knight School in Tewkesbury - was competing for the second year running.

He was placed equal first in his Countryside Challenge with a high score of 87.75% and first in his Introduction to Dressage Test with 68.8%. He was then presented with two trophies.

With participants from all over the UK, including Northern Ireland, there was keen competition in all disciplines.

Fourteen-year-old Ryan has been with the Maisemore RDA Group for the past four and a half years and was riding the Group’s pony, Billy.
