A-level results on the rise again at Hartpury

Hartpury’s A-level students are gearing up to start their university adventure following another year of impressive results at the college.

The A-level pass rate rose this year, with first year students also achieving the college’s best ever results.

More than 80% of A-level students will be heading to university where they will study a wide range of subjects with a significant increase in the numbers progressing on to science-related courses, a particular specialism at the college with its unique Pre Veterinary Programme.

Coco Leung, 18, a student on the pre-vet programme achieved an impressive A*, A, A, A in her four subjects and she now goes on to read Veterinary Medicine at Edinburgh University.

Talented rugby player, Will Hayward, said: “I’m absolutely delighted with my results. I had never expected to achieve what I have and I don’t think I would be going to university had I not been here. Being able to combine elite rugby and A-levels has been perfect for me and I’m looking forward to staying on at university at Hartpury.”

Denise Hughes, Hartpury’s Head of A-levels, said: “We’re thrilled with our A-level results, which reflect the hard work of our students and the excellent level of teaching on offer here. It’s brilliant to see such a large number of students going on to study at university and we wish them all the best for the future.”

Other notable achievers included Liam Hine, who achieved A*A*B and will read International Relations at the University of Leeds and Great Britain Rower Mathilda Hodgkins-Byrne, who is progressing to the University of Reading.
