Hartpury College Remembrance Day Service 2014

There was a fantastic turnout at the annual College Remembrance Day Service on Tuesday 11 November held in the Equine Arena held to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War.

Students from UPS welcomed visitors and gave out Orders of Service. About 600 students and staff attended to listen to readings by the Principal, Russell Marchant, “A” level History student, Holly Hamer, Director of HR and Residential Services, Lesley Worsfold and UPS student William Burchell. The “We will remember them” responsive reading was led by Squadron Leader Carrie-Anne Rossi from the RAF and the service was led by the Chaplain, Phil Metcalf. A number of people commented on how respectful the 2 minute silence was observed and all the students were a credit to the College.

The service ended with “Abide with me” played by The Central Band of the Royal British Legion.
