There was a mixed bag of results for Hartpury’s sports teams this week, but the Under-19s football first team had a win to celebrate, beating Gower Swansea College in the ECFA12 Premier League 1-0 thanks to Bundu’s goal.

The BUCS firsts, however, went down by the same scoreline to University of South Wales, while the seconds had a fantastic 2-1 win at home to Swansea University first team in the BUCS Division One, Thornton and Watts (penalty) the scorers and the thirds drew with Swansea University’s seconds 1-1 in BUCS Division 2, Fitzgibbon scoring. The fourths lost 4-1 at Winchester seconds.

The Under-19s seconds had a great victory at home, winning 4-1 to Dudley College in the ECFA 2 Premier, Masud and Hands scoring two goals apiece. The junior third team had an exceptional win at Redditch College 7-0 with Bates scoring an incredible five goals and Sweeney and Wands also getting in on the goal action. The Under 19s fourth XI lost 2-1 at home to Worcester 6th Form College.

In the rugby, the Under-18s firsts celebrated an impressive 43-15 win at Oaklands firsts in the AASE League, with tries being scored by Matt Protheroe, Robbie Faulkner, Maliq Holden, Alexander Craig and Tyler Jerrum.

The Under-18s seconds crushed Oaklands seconds 62-15 away from home while the thirds won 41-31 at Worthing.

There was disappointment in the BUCS League though as the first team conceded a late try to lose 20-15 to Exeter in the Premier South A League. You can read the full report here.

The BUCS seconds had an excellent 52-24 win at home to UWE in the Premier South B League.

The BUCS thirds won 29-8 at Swansea 29-8, while the Hartpury University Women’s team lost 36-7 at Trinity St Davids.

The Hartpury Under-18s Acorns recreational team lost 30-10 at home to Henley Coventry seconds.

In the netball, the junior firsts won 71-40 at Dudley in the AoC Superleague.

In the golf, the BUCS first team lost 4-2 at home to Bath in BUCS Western 1A, while Hartpury’s golfers also competed in round two of the British Schools and Colleges tour at Northants County Golf Club. The results were:
