Three Hartpury teams kicked off their new year’s sports fixtures this week with the college rugby and football sides both in action.

The Under-18 2nd XV recorded a 62-7 home win over visitors Weston College as they extended their winning run to seven games, closing the gap on leaders Coleg y Cymoedd to just three points.

Hartpury’s Under-18 3rd XV, meanwhile, missed a great chance to move to the top of their league as they lost out 18-8 away to bottom side Oaklands College. Hartpury currently sit three points behind leaders Henley College in third with a game in hand on both the top two.

Rounding off a quiet week of fixtures, Hartpury’s Under-19 4th team shared four goals as they drew at home to Warwickshire 2nd team in the AoC WM Cat 3B League. The team slip to second after Birmingham Met’s victory over Halesowen College, but Hartpury have two games in hand over their league rivals.
