Countdown on as Hartpury gears up for super Summer Fair

There’s only a week to go until Hartpury opens its doors for another fun-filled Summer Fair fun day with something on offer for all the family.

Come and experience everything from zorbing, climbing walls and archery tag to the county’s finest produce and crafts at Hartpury’s biggest Summer Fair yet!

Last year was a sizzling success as the sun shone on thousands of visitors and now excitement is building for next Saturday, June 4th. With free entry for everyone, even the family dog, we’re counting down until the fun and games begin!

From our popular activity zone – including a climbing wall, zorbs and a bungee run – to face painting, tractor rides, sport demonstrations and arts and crafts stalls, there really is something for all the family. Bring your dog to enter the family dog show and have a go at a dog agility course or join our jungle roadshow to get up close to some of our furry, and not so furry, College creatures.

The action-packed outdoor arena programme, which starts at noon, will feature vintage tractors, dog agility, tent pegging and an equine demonstration. Climb on board with Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, grab an ice cream from Lovington’s or have a go at our inflatable golf net. There’s also a food and drink tent with produce from lots of local companies or you can kick back and enjoy the barbecue!

The Equine Therapy Centre is a must for equestrian enthusiasts. There will be a demonstration of a horse on the water treadmill and the new Rider Performance Centre will open its doors with tours and demonstrations. If farming is your thing, you can learn how to shear a sheep and go on a tractor ride. Sporting stars can also test their skills on the sports obstacle course and practice their skills in the sports zone.

Hartpury Principal, Russell Marchant, said: “Last year was such a fantastic event and it was wonderful to be able to welcome so many local people to see our amazing campus and facilities as well as to share and participate in all the activities that Gloucestershire businesses have to offer.

“The event has grown year on year and we’re excited for everyone to come and enjoy all that we have in store this year. The Activity Zone, which was really popular last year, is back and packed with even more fun things to do.

“It’s set to be an even bigger and better day this year and I can’t wait to sample some of the local produce and enjoy the demonstrations in the arena. And, of course, I’ll be helping to judge the dog show as always!”

The gates will open at 11.30am on Saturday, June 4th with the full arena programme kicking off at noon. The show closes at 4pm.
