Hartpury research takes centre stage at national conference

Hartpury University Centre's equestrian sport experts were able to share their knowledge at the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences Conference yesterday.

Lecturers Lucy Dumbell and Victoria Lewis presented a poster showcasing the results of a study that also involved Masters in Research Equestrian Sport graduate, Izabela Motyl.

The study showed that rider position on a horse simulator is similar to on a live horse in rising trot but that more differences are seen in a sitting trot. These findings are part of an ongoing research project for the Performance in Equestrian Sport Research Group members at Hartpury University Centre.
