Hartpury’s Scott Wilson scored again as his Eastleigh side progressed to the third round of the FA Cup and set up a tie away at Championship side Brentford.
Wilson scored the opener as Eastleigh bagged two first half goals to see off Halifax Town in their FA Cup replay last night. The National League side, who currently sit 11th in their table, will face a side 69 places above them in the new year when the cup competition gets back underway.
The Sports Business Management graduate scored shortly before half-time, finishing from close range following a neat ball across the box before his strike partner Mikael Mandron converted a penalty to put the away side two up before the break.
The striker, who also scored in the 3-3 draw with Halifax last week, continues a good run of form in the competition after also having a hand in all three goals as his Eastleigh side stunned League One Swindon Town in 3-1 in the previous round.
The Bristol-born forward helped Hartpury to back to back British Universities and Colleges Sport National finals as well as scoring the winning goal from the penalty sport as Hartpury won the title in 2015.
