Visitors to Hartpury College and University Centre Hartpury can look forward to enjoying double the usual fun and excitement at one of the top events in the equestrian calendar.
For the first time, the ever-popular Hartpury Summer Fair will be staged on the Saturday of the 2018 NAF Five Star International Hartpury Horse Trials, which run from Wednesday, 8 August to Sunday, 12 August.
With the whole campus coming to life, the showcase event will allow visitors to get close to the world-class action on the cross-country course at the same time as being entertained at the Summer Fair.
Attractions will include a treasure hunt among the 90 species in Hartpury’s animal collection, a kids’ sports zone and the Hartpury dog show, alongside Pimm’s tents and sports activities.
Rosie Scott-Ward, Vice-Principle of Higher Education and Dean, explained: “We’re looking forward to this year’s Summer Fair being the biggest and best yet.
“Staging it here on the same day as the NAF Five Star International Hartpury Horse Trials means our thousands of visitors will have even more to enjoy, so we’re really pleased to have introduced the new format.
“The Horse Trials always attract some of the best riders in the world, while the Summer Fair will feature an array of family-friendly attractions such as a kids’ sports zone, the Hartpury dog show, dog agility displays and birds of prey flying displays, as well as stalls and exhibitors.
“It promises to be a super Saturday!”
Visitors are invited to bring along their dogs but they must be kept on a lead.
