Hartpury is proud to have enhanced its association with Italy-based company ALPAS, leading to a change of name for its Championship rugby stadium.
Based in Solero, ALPAS has more than 40 years’ experience in the adhesive, resin and composite industries, distributing its products into a wide range of sectors including automotive, marble, flooring and furniture.
Under the exciting new partnership, Hartpury’s rugby stadium will be now known as the ALPAS Arena, home to Greene King IPA Championship club Hartpury University RFC and Tyrrells Premier 15s side Gloucester-Hartpury WRFC.
Russell Marchant, Vice-Chancellor of Hartpury University and Principal of Hartpury College, added: “We’re delighted to be growing our successful association with ALPAS, after they became the first-ever headline advertiser on the main stand at the ground last year.
“ALPAS share our commitment to achieving excellence in everything that we do, setting high standards and for always putting the customer first, so it’s absolutely fabulous to have their support again.
“No doubt the ALPAS Arena will be the venue for some exciting rugby again next season for our men’s and women’s student teams as well as our Saturday team – Hartpury University RFC – in the Championship.”
Meanwhile, the CEO of ALPAS, Andrew Saba, said: “I am very pleased to be a sponsor of this club and to be able to continue to grow the relationship between ALPAS and Hartpury.”
Last year, the ALPAS Arena hosted its first international rugby tour fixture, between Fiji and Urguay, which was streamed live around the world.
The floodlit ground, which features a range of hospitality facilities, regularly hosts matches in the BUCS Super Rugby Championship – won by the Hartpury University’s men team for the past three years – and is home to Hartpury College’s AASE title-winning teams.
It’s not too late for prospective students to apply for places on the Hartpury University and Hartpury College rugby programmes.
Students at Hartpury have access to a wide range of state-of-the-art training facilities, including a power gym, a performance analysis suite, spa baths and artificial all-weather pitches.
As well as top level coaching and exceptional sports facilities, students have access to performance services that can include physiotherapy, sports psychology, nutrition advice and strength and conditioning.
In addition, timetables can be tailored to help students achieve their full potential in both their academic and sporting pursuits.
