Hartpury College is rated highest achieving land-based college

Hartpury College – rated Oftsed Outstanding across all areas – has gained further national recognition for its students’ academic success.

For the third year in a row, it has been rated as the highest achieving land-based college in England across all qualifications (all levels, all ages) by the Department for Education based on the latest data (2018-19).

Hartpury offers a range of diplomas across its specialist industries of agriculture, animal, sport, outdoor adventure, uniformed public services, animal management and equine, as well as Access to Higher Education qualifications.

Last year, it achieved an exceptional pass rate of 99.2 per cent across its 14 A-level subjects, which include English Language, Mathematics, History, Geography and Physics.

“Our results reflect the drive and commitment of our students to achieve their full potential supported by dedicated staff within a modern learning environment.

“Our diploma and access-to-education courses have been developed with employers, and our A-level offering includes an enrichment offer to effectively support UCAS applications.

“We’re also pleased to offer the unique Hartpury Certificate, which supports students with their employability and wider life skills, going way beyond just the qualification.

“It means that when our students complete, they are well prepared for employment and university-level study.”

Hartpury College, which shares the same state-of-the-art 360-hectare campus as Hartpury University, was rated Ofsted Outstanding in a further education and skills report in June 2018 and for its residential provision for students in March 2019.

It has the highest student satisfaction of all land-based further education colleges in the UK (Department of Education survey 2018/19), while 97 per cent of its students progress to employment, university or further study across all subjects (Hartpury 2019).

Students have access to the largest equine educational establishment in the world, cutting-edge sports facilities, an extensive animal collection, an animal therapy centre, science laboratories with industry standard equipment and a fully working farm.
