The construction at Hartpury University and Hartpury College for the upgrade of the catering facilities on campus is underway.

The new flexible catering hub will be a superb modern facility with state-of-the-art technology and sustainable features, meeting both short and long term demands and objectives of Hartpury to provide a greatly improved catering service to staff and students.

Russell Marchant - Vice-Chancellor and Principal of Hartpury University and Hartpury College, joined Mark Price - MD of Vitruvius Management Services and Project Lead, and Ben Ramsay - MD of Barnwood and main contractor for the build, at a special commemorative breaking ground ceremony.

“We are delighted to see this exciting construction phase commence,” said Russell Marchant, Vice-Chancellor and Principal at Hartpury.

“This is a key project that will bring us closer to delivering our wider strategic plan to support student growth at Hartpury with first-class facilities. This catering hub along with various teaching facilities will be at the heart of our ongoing investment and development,” he added.

Project lead, Vitruvius Management Services, has been involved from pre-construction, also appointing architects Roberts Limbrick as lead designers and Barnwood as the main contractor for the brand new 2347m2 two-storey catering hub.

“It’s great to commemorate the start of the construction phase for this notable building,” said Mark Price, MD of Vitruvius Management Services.

“Over the next year, we will watch this project come to life, delivering Hartpury students an amazing new place to eat, learn and interact. This will be a very impressive and modern facility; a sustainable step to future-proofing the built environment for our client Hartpury University and Hartpury College, in line with their ambitions and strategic vision,” he added.

The hub will be a multi-use space, allowing flexibility that can accommodate a variety of functions with adaptable teaching spaces to support both HE and FE alike. It will also provide commercial opportunities for Hartpury, ideal for external seminars and conferences with a bar and cafe that will be integral for social and dining events.

Ben Ramsay, MD of Barnwood and main contractor for the project said: “We are proud to have been selected as the main contractor on this project by Vitruvius Management Services and are delighted that the construction phase has begun. We’re looking forward to collaborating with the project team to deliver this amazing facility at Hartpury.”
