The first of Hartpury’s Digital Innovation Farm Tech Box Park Units has been reserved by Novazera, a company passionate about making life safer.
Novazera, who create biodegradable plastic alternative products and ground-breaking anti-viral and bacterial coatings have secured the first of five pioneering new units that form part of Hartpury’s £2million Tech Box Park facility that will create a new kind of workspace dedicated to enabling the growth and development of Gloucestershire’s agri-tech businesses.
Novazera offer a range of highly innovative technologies aimed at utilising farming waste streams. Their Bio range of products are complemented with other technologies created with human safety in mind.
The company intend to use their residency as a technology sharing opportunity between themselves and the University to research, develop and test new products and technologies and to be at the forefront of “making life safer” for Gloucestershire, the UK and beyond.
A spokesman for Novazera said “The University’s academic and agri-tech staff and students provide a perfect opportunity for partnership for both organisations, and we look forward to developing more learning opportunities as well as innovative products and solutions.”
David Owen, Chief Executive of GFirst LEP, Gloucestershire’s Local Enterprise Partnership, commented: “The Digital Innovation Farm project has received funding of £1.25m from the ‘Getting Building Fund’ to create new innovation and demonstration workspace for high growth SMEs in Gloucestershire. To see the LEP’s investment act as an enabler for growth is extremely exciting and I look forward to watching Novazera develop and grow.”
A total of five High-Cube Tech Box units are being created using environmentally friendly, repurposed shipping containers clad in cedar wood at Hartpury’s Home Farm with funding from GFirst Local Enterprise Partnership Getting Building Fund, the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Elizabeth Creak Charitable Trust.
The construction of a new Digital Innovation Farm Tech Box Park will see Hartpury further develop its 360-hectare campus and expand its range of agriculture facilities to meet the global demand for new technology in farming.
