Renouf Wealth Management is the first company to add its name to the 2022/23 Kick Start campaign, a sponsorship initiative covering Hartpury University and Hartpury College’s sports academies.

Renouf Wealth Management, headquartered in the Forest of Dean, will sponsor the women’s rugby pathway providing valuable support to the college and BUCS female rugby teams. In return, the company will benefit from front of shirt sponsorship, onsite branding and signage, social media activity and invitations to events and fixtures as well as a CSR case study.

With around 400 events taking place at Hartpury every year, businesses within the Kick Start campaign can benefit from multiple networking opportunities and opportunities to showcase their business to an influential audience.

Renouf Wealth Management provides bespoke financial planning and wealth management advice to private and corporate clients across the UK.

Ian Renouf Watkins, Director of Forest of Dean-headquartered Renouf Wealth Management, said: “We’re delighted to support the Women’s Rugby pathway at Hartpury in the 2022/23 season and hope to continue our involvement for many years to come.”

With investment and support, the women’s rugby pathway at Hartpury has produced impressive results. More than 20 England Under-20s and 10 senior England squad members have come through the Hartpury programme, including Women's Rugby World Cup winners Alex Matthews and Ceri Large. Several other players have also earned full-time 7s and full-time 15s contracts. A number of former Hartpury students and past and present Gloucester-Hartpury players are representing their respective nations in the Women’s Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

Ex-Gloucester and England rugby player James Forrester, who is now Head of Sponsorship and Business Engagement at Hartpury, said: “We’re very grateful to Ian and everyone at Renouf Wealth Management for their generous support of our women’s rugby pathway as part of the Kick Start campaign.

"The Kick Start campaign can have a game changing impact. Through sponsorship, we can increase budgets and improve the sporting environment for our student athletes, in terms of the facilities, attracting players and being able to help with our performance services such as nutrition.”

In addition to competing for the University and College, students can also be selected to play for clubs like Hartpury University RFC and Gloucester-Hartpury Women’s RFC, Hartpury University FC, Hartpury Futsal Club and Hartpury University and Hartpury College Boat Club which compete in the relevant national governing body competitions.

Overall, Hartpury’s competitive men’s and women’s sports academies offer students the chance to train to a high level whilst also gaining a high-quality education (ranked 1st in the South West and 6th in the UK for Teaching Quality, according to The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023, and ranked number 1 mainstream English university for teaching in the NSS 2022).
