Hartpury University has once again secured its position among the UK’s top institutions, ranking 6th nationally and 1st in Gloucestershire and the Southwest for Academic Support in the 2025 National Student Survey (NSS). These results place the institution within the top 5% of all UK universities for the second consecutive year.
The NSS results, based on feedback from final-year undergraduate students across the country, highlight Hartpury University’s continued commitment to delivering outstanding support, teaching and student experience.
Regional and national highlights from the NSS 2025 also include:
- Top 10% of English universities for ‘Teaching on my course’
- Top 20% of UK universities for Organisation and Management, and Student Voice
- 1st in Gloucestershire for Learning Opportunities, Assessment and Feedback, Organisation and Management, and Student Union Representation

Subject-level excellence
At a subject level, Hartpury’s specialist areas continue to shine. Hartpury University has seen an increased interest in agriculture subjects in recent years, and now ranks no.1 in the UK Teaching, Assessment and Feedback, Academic Support, and Student Voice, in that subject area.
Business and Management is another notable area of success, making the top 5 in the UK for Assessment and Feedback and Academic Support, and no.1 for Organisation and Management. This is particularly exciting given the launch of a new BSc (Hons) Business Management degree, developed in consultation with industry professionals and accredited by the Chartered Management Institute.
Outstanding programme satisfaction
Several courses received exceptional scores for overall student satisfaction and specific areas of the learning experience:

- 100% for BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Nutrition and BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy
- 99% for BSc (Hons) Sports Business Management
- 98% for BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Sciences
Students on Hartpury’s BSc (Hons) Veterinary Nursing (including Equine Veterinary Nursing) and DPS Veterinary Nursing programmes reported 97% overall satisfaction. Hartpury ranked #2 in the UK for Assessment and Feedback and no.3 for Organisation and Management in Veterinary Sciences (CAH Level 2) – a broad comparison that includes veterinary medicine, veterinary dentistry, and other Veterinary Science programmes across 13 providers.
In more detailed subject-level benchmarking (Veterinary Sciences (CAH Level 3) nine providers), Hartpury also placed no.2 in the UK for Teaching and no.2 for Assessment and Feedback, further underlining the quality and consistency of the Veterinary Nursing student experience. It’s been an exciting twelve months for Hartpury Veterinary Nursing, particularly with the launch of a brand new Veterinary Nursing and Technical Skills Centre, opened by Chancellor Martin Clunes.
