Hartpury University and Hartpury College’s Home Farm team enjoyed a highly successful evening at the Gloucestershire Root, Fruit & Grain Society’s annual awards ceremony on Friday, held at Kingsholm Stadium. The event brought together farmers, families, students, and supporters of the county’s thriving agricultural community for a night of celebration, recognition, and vibrant entertainment.
Among the standout achievements was Meg Lawrence, Livestock Manager at Hartpury University and College, who was named Most Promising Young Farmer. Meg’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to high-quality livestock management continue to make her a role model for the next generation of agricultural professionals.
Hartpury also secured an impressive set of additional honours on the night:
· Herdsman of the Year for Bryan Carter, Hartpury’s Dairy Herd Manager
· First Place in the Winter Barley Crop category
· Second Place in the Sheep category
· Third Place in the Dairy Herds category
These accolades reflect the institution’s commitment to excellence in agriculture, livestock and land management.
