Lesley Worsfold Receiving Hollie Gazzard Trust Award

Safeguarding leadership recognised with Hollie Gazzard Celebrating Excellence Award

Hartpury University and Hartpury College’s Lesley Worsfold (Chief People Officer and Designated Safeguarding Lead) and Natalie Retsis (Head of Residential Life and Residential Services) were last week presented with a ‘Hollie’ Celebrating Excellence Award in recognition of their ongoing support and long-standing partnership with the Hollie Gazzard Trust.

The award celebrates individuals and organisations that demonstrate outstanding commitment to promoting safety, respect and positive cultural change. Lesley has been a Hollie Gazzard Trust Ambassador for a number of years, supporting the Trust’s mission since its establishment in 2014.

Founded in memory of Hollie Gazzard, the Hollie Gazzard Trust works nationally to prevent domestic abuse, stalking and harassment through education, training and early intervention. Over the years, the partnership has delivered meaningful benefits for both staff and students, with access to a wide range of specialist training programmes.

These have included Active Bystander training focused on tackling sexual harassment, awareness sessions on coercive and controlling behaviour, rethinking masculinity, knife crime awareness, and education around healthy relationships.

Speaking after receiving the award, Lesley said: “It was a real honour to receive the Hollie Celebrating Excellence Award alongside Natalie. Our partnership with the Hollie Gazzard Trust has been incredibly impactful over many years, equipping our staff and students with vital knowledge and practical tools to challenge harmful behaviour and support one another. We are proud to continue supporting the Trust and the important work they do.”

The award reflects a shared commitment to safeguarding, education and creating safer communities through awareness, prevention and meaningful cultural change.
