Hartpury University has been recognised for the strength of its postgraduate experience after the latest Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) placed the specialist institution among the UK's top-performing universities across a range of key academic measures.
The 2026 results show Hartpury achieved top 20% UK rankings for four of the core aspects of the postgraduate experience:
- Assessment and Feedback – 11th out of 105
- Organisation and Management – 20th out of 105
- Student Engagement – 21st out of 105
- Dissertation / Major Project – 14th out of 89
The university also achieved an exceptional set of results among home postgraduate students, ranking in the UK top 10for five key themes:
- 3rd for Dissertation / Major Project
- 4th for Organisation and Management
- 4th for Student Engagement
- 5th for Assessment and Feedback
- 6th for Skills Development
Further success came in Biological and Sport Sciences, where Hartpury's postgraduate provision was ranked among the UK's top 10 for Assessment and Feedback (6th), Organisation and Management (8th) and Dissertation / Major Project (3rd).
The survey also placed Hartpury in the top quartile nationally for a wide range of individual measures, including intellectual stimulation, staff explanation of course content, dissertation supervision, prompt and helpful feedback, timetabling, course induction, research skills development and independent learning.

The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES), coordinated by Advance HE, is the UK's largest survey of taught postgraduate students. It provides universities with detailed feedback on every stage of the postgraduate experience, helping institutions benchmark their performance against the wider higher education sector.
