Hartpury Equine set to become new home of British Dressage Summer Championships

Hartpury Equine is set to become the new home of the British Dressage Summer Championships from 2027, as part of exciting changes announced to the national dressage competition calendar.

The prestigious event, formerly known as the National Championships, will move to the Gloucestershire venue from 2027, subject to contract, bringing another major equestrian championship to its world-class facilities.

The newly named Summer Championships will take place at the end of August, two weeks earlier than the current National Championships fixture, and will follow a similar format to the successful Winter Championships.

Spectators will benefit from free admission, while live streaming of all classes will allow dressage enthusiasts to follow the action wherever they are.

The championships will retain the existing qualification pathway through Premier League fixtures and Regional Championships, ensuring continuity for competitors working towards national titles.

Visitors can also look forward to a vibrant championship atmosphere, with trade stands, food and drink outlets, hospitality and opportunities to experience top-level dressage competition.

Jason Brautigam, Chief Executive of British Dressage, said: “Hartpury has a lot of the permanent structures that a show like this requires and is based in an easily accessible central location. Our members have also been requesting access to live streaming for a long time, so along with free admission these changes will enable us to bring the championships to a much wider audience.”

The relocation also reflects a commitment to the long-term sustainability of the championships, with Hartpury's established infrastructure helping to support the delivery of a high-quality competition experience.
