Hartpury University has reaffirmed its commitment to preparing students for careers in sport and physical activity, continuing its partnership with the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) for the 2026/27 academic year.

The University has received its latest Higher Education Partner certificate, confirming its status as a registered CIMSPA Higher Education Partner and recognising its continued commitment to supporting professional standards and industry-aligned education.

CIMSPA is the professional development body for the UK's sport and physical activity sector, working with education providers, employers and industry partners to strengthen professional standards and support workforce development.

Through its ongoing partnership, Hartpury remains committed to ensuring students benefit from education that reflects the evolving needs of the sport and physical activity industry, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and professional understanding needed for their future careers.

The partnership also supports the wider ambition of making professional status a recognised standard for those working across sport and physical activity.

Dr Luciana De Martin Silva, Principal Lecturer in Sports Coaching, Physical Education and School Sport at Hartpury University, said: “We're delighted to continue our partnership with CIMSPA for the 2026/27 academic year.

"Maintaining strong connections with professional bodies is an important part of ensuring our teaching reflects the expectations and developments of the industries our students aspire to work in.

"Through this partnership, we can continue to champion professional standards and support our students as they develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to pursue successful careers across sport and physical activity."

The renewed partnership reflects Hartpury's wider focus on connecting academic learning with professional practice, ensuring students are well placed to respond to opportunities within the sector.

By working alongside organisations such as CIMSPA, Hartpury aims to support the development of a skilled, knowledgeable and professional workforce, contributing to the future of sport and physical activity.

Hartpury University offers a range of specialist sport degrees spanning sports coaching, sport and exercise science, sports performance, and physical education, combining academic study with practical experience, industry connections and access to specialist facilities.
