At Hartpury, we provide a wide range of workshops and activities designed to widen participation, enhance understanding of higher education, and inform students about our further education opportunities. Our goal is to raise awareness and inspire students to turn their passions into future careers.
Our activities include:
Our interactive workshops and talks can be delivered by a member of the Hartpury outreach team or course academics, either at your school or virtually online. For a full list of what we offer, please see our outreach catalogue.
We also support schools’ careers programs throughout the year with activities such as:

We offer exclusive workshops, opportunities and resources for students in Year 9 and 10 of our partnership schools.

Who can apply?
Priority registration is available for students who meet our widening participation (WP) criteria. This includes those receiving free school meals, from ethnic minority backgrounds, or living in areas identified as having lower participation in higher education (IMD postcodes).

Applicants can disclose their care-experienced status through their UCAS application. Sharing this information early enables us to provide personalised support. Our care-experienced offer includes:
We offer a range of bursaries and scholarships to support different circumstances and needs. You can find the full list here.
Hartpury Care-Experienced Bursary: A bursary of £1,500 per year for the duration of the student’s programme. This is available to students who have been in the care of a Local Authority for 13 weeks or more, as confirmed by the Student Loans Company.
Applications open: 1 April – 30 November.

Explore Pre-Induction Week: A dedicated event designed to help care-experienced students meet academic and professional staff, view accommodation, and connect with fellow students before starting their course.
Care-experienced students are encouraged to disclose their status as early as possible. This ensures we can provide the necessary support throughout their application process and during their time at Hartpury University.

We offer transport support for state schools visiting Hartpury’s campus for outreach activities, covering costs up to £500. The funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis until exhausted.
Eligible schools: Only state-funded schools on our partner list (see partner schools)
Student eligibility: Students in Years 9–13
Application: Submit via the online form at least two weeks before the activity
Limit: One application per school per academic year.
