James was doing a Level 3 Equine Management course at a local equine college in Kent, and was keen to get out into industry after he finished to work towards his BHS stages alongside working as a groom. While this traditional approach was working, he felt like he needed something extra. That is when he was recommended Hartpury, and he's very glad he took the opportunity!

Esmee, an international student from the Netherlands did a veterinary nursing degree before enrolling at Hartpury. She is very happy that she decided to do another degree to further develop her skills.

Hartpury has been Taira's university of choice since she was about 14 years-old. She has always wanted to work with horses, so when she heard a past pupil from her school talk about Hartpury University, with its amazing yard and equine life, she knew it was the place for her. 

Ella has wanted to work with horses since she was 12 years old. Hartpury has always been her dream university - somewhere that wouldn't just teach her about horses, but would also prepare her to work in the equestrian industry.

Dhruvpal previously studied his diploma here, and after three years working in the equine industry, he decided to return and develop his scientific expertise. He chose to study at Hartpury because of the rural setting, specialist equine facilities and the learning environment.

As Lauren had time out of education before coming to university, Hartpury’s foundation year helped her to grow and develop certain academic skills that will help her during the rest of her degree and future career. The course has given her the confidence to present and talk about subjects to different groups of individuals.

Samantha came to Hartpury after studying an equine diploma at an agricultural college in the North West. Finding business studies to be her strong point, while also having a huge passion in the equine industry, the BA Equine Business Management course at Hartpury was the perfect degree for her.

Iona chose Hartpury as it offered her the rare opportunity to study what she is most passionate about, whilst continuing to train and compete her showjumper. During her first year, she discovered her love for equine nutrition and aims for this to be the area of industry she works towards as a future career.
