The British Racing School
The British Racing School (BRS) is a purpose built 120 acre facility in Newmarket providing education, training and state-of-the-art equipment for those working in or wishing to work in the horseracing industry. The BRS provides a wide range of training courses including for jockeys, racing secretaries and prospective racehorse trainers. It also has over 230 young people working in racing yards on apprenticeships and provides a residential course for those wishing to take their first step into employment in the racing industry.
The BRS has responsibility for delivering CPD training for those in the industry and Hartpury University is delighted to partner with the BRS to offer a Foundation Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree and level 6 entry Bachelor’s Degree top up in the Horseracing Industry.
University Centre Weston (UCW) offers more than 45 degrees in a range of subject areas. With a shared focus on employability and student support, they are the ideal partners to deliver two of our specialist foundation degrees. Like we do, UCW strive to produce graduates who are well-placed to enter the world of work.

Located in Pennsylvania, Delaware Valley University (DelVal) boasts a rich agricultural heritage and is also home to outstanding equine facilities. Through our partnership, Equine students have the exciting opportunity to spend a semester studying at DelVal—gaining international experience while continuing their academic development within this close-knit university community.
Situated in the heart of the Lombardy region, the University of Pavia is a city-campus offering a rich academic and cultural experience. Through our partnership, Sports and Business students have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad, gaining international insight and expanding their academic and personal horizons in one of the world’s oldest academic institutions.
Van Hall Larenstein University, Netherlands -
Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences, based in the Netherlands, offers a range of programmes with a strong focus on sustainability and applied sciences. Students from Hartpury’s Equine, Agriculture, Animal, and Sports departments have the opportunity to spend a semester at Van Hall Larenstein. A selection of English-taught modules is available, allowing students to continue their studies while gaining experience in a different academic and cultural setting.

We are proud and committed to work alongside local schools, offering students invaluable and hands-on experience of coaching and teaching in school settings. Gaining industry experience is at the heart of our BSc (Hons) Physical Education and School Sport programme, which supports our Undergraduate students to gain transferable skills, enhance their academic learning and help prepare them for future careers within education and sport. BAEDT -
In partnership with the British Association of Equine Dental Technicians (BAEDT), our BSc (Hons) Equine Dental Science students benefit from dedicated professional mentorship throughout their studies.
Each student is paired with an experienced equine dental technician, supporting the development of practical skills alongside academic learning. This close guidance offers valuable insight into professional practice and helps students build confidence and competence.
Mare and Foal Sanctuary and Sirona Therapeutic Horsemanship -
Students enrolled on the Postgraduate Programme in Animal Assisted Counselling and Psychotherapy will benefit from workshops and hands on experience with partners such as The Mare and Foal Sanctuary and Sirona Therapeutic Horsemanship
Based on our campus, ECP give students direct access to a professional clinical environment to gain hands on experience in small animal hydrotherapy and physiotherapy.
