Hartpury College hosted its first in-person Prize Day since the Covid-19 pandemic on Thursday (23 June), celebrating the many successes and achievements of students who completed their college course this summer.

The day saw the return of friends and family who gathered at Hartpury to witness the presentations, made by heads of department. Guests were addressed by Edward Keene - Chair of Governors, and Guest of Honour and BBC Countryfile presenter Adam Henson.

Claire Whitworth, Vice Principal at Hartpury College, said: ‘It was fantastic to be able to host an in-person Prize Day following the pandemic to celebrate the successes and achievements of our students who have recently completed their college course. As well as recognising all students individually for completing their specific course, several students were also in receipt of endeavour, outstanding academic achievement, outstanding progress and outstanding athlete awards to name but a few.

“We’re also very grateful to our guest speaker Adam Henson for his inspirational speech that will no doubt resonate with students, staff and guests for many years to come.

“Thank you to all our sponsors who support our student awards each year. Our students certainly seemed to enjoy their day and we wish them the very best of luck for their future, whether that’s returning to Hartpury University, university elsewhere or into the world of work. We do hope that Hartpury College has provided them with a solid foundation and excellent springboard for their next steps.”

Russell Marchant, Principal at Hartpury College, said: “Our College Prize Day is a special event in the Hartpury calendar, and that has never been truer than today, after the last two years, as we host our first Prize Day since 2019.  Our students tell us they’re Proud to Belong, we are proud of our students.  It’s great to see students, parents and staff mixing and enjoying the celebration of all their hard work.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all students the best of luck with their exam results in August.”
