Hartpury University ranks 2nd in the UK for Student Support and 4th in the UK for Teaching Excellence, according to the first-ever interactive Daily Mail University Guide. Hartpury also ranks 1st in the South West for Teaching Excellence and Student Support.

These results consolidate the quality of support for students and commitment to high quality teaching, themes that are praised by students from all subject areas in their feedback.

The Daily Mail’s new rankings were published in a comprehensive guide – available online and published as a free magazine in last weekend’s Mail on Sunday – featuring profiles of more than 131 universities and a league table of 128 universities. The rankings are based on 12 key performance indicators.

The publication has also designed an interactive University Finder where prospective students can create their own personalised rankings, based on the metrics and ranking they care about most. The guide is designed to help students and their parents decide where to go.

Professor Andy Collop, Vice-Chancellor of Hartpury University said: “We’re delighted to see such strong results in the Daily Mail University Guide 2024, particularly given our consistently high performance in areas around teaching and student support. For us, it’s imperative that students investing in their future through higher education experience the highest quality teaching we can offer while also being supported at every stage of their journey.

“As always, I’d like to thank our team of staff who work so hard to ensure students learn in a dynamic, friendly and supportive environment as we prepare them for their future careers.”

During the summer, Hartpury University enjoyed strong results from the National Student Survey (NSS) 2023, with student respondents rating the university as the number one in England for Student Support. In the same survey, Hartpury University was named number one in Gloucestershire for Teaching, Assessment and Feedback, Organisation and Management, and Student Voice, as well as number one in the South West for Learning Opportunities.

Graduate employability remains high in the latest round of results of the Graduate Outcomes Survey, too. 97% Hartpury University graduates are in employment, further study or other purposeful activity, placing the Gloucestershire institution first in the South West and in the top 10% of UK universities for graduate employability (Graduate Outcomes 2023, reflects graduates from 2021).

The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide has become a point of reference for many students considering higher education choices, and while the 2024 version won’t be released for a few days, Hartpury was ranked 6th in the UK for Teaching Quality and 1st in the South West for Teaching Quality in last September’s release (The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023).
