Hartpury College celebrates outstanding A-level and BTEC results

Hartpury College students are celebrating an exceptional set of A-level and BTEC results for 2025, recording the college's strongest ever set of A-level results. Despite being just halfway through the two-year course, T Level students have also posted strong pass rates in their first year.

A-levels – above the national average

Hartpury’s A-level students have achieved results well above the national pass rate and grade profile:

  • 99.4% overall A-E pass rate* (vs. 97.4% national pass rate from all schools/colleges)
  • 80.7% A-C grades* (vs. 77.7% national rate)
  • 76% of A-level students earned their first choice of university.

These results highlight Hartpury College’s strong academic reputation, with students performing at a higher level than many of their peers locally, regionally, and nationally.

BTEC — continuing a tradition of excellence

Hartpury’s vocational BTEC learners have once again achieved exceptional outcomes:

  • 99.2% overall pass rate
  • 70.8% high grade profile

This continues the college’s track record of preparing students for top universities, competitive apprenticeships, and industry careers. Once again, many BTEC students are now preparing to progress to university in the autumn while others have secured employment and are about to start their exciting and diverse careers.

T-Levels — a strong first year

This year saw Hartpury College launch its first T Levels in areas of agriculture and land management. Despite being only halfway through the two-year course, results have been highly impressive:

  • 98% of students passed their core components, which they will carry forward into the second year.

Hartpury College will welcome its first cohort for the brand-new animal-related T Levels in September.

Next steps

As in previous years, many A-level students will now progress to leading universities to study a diverse range of subjects. This year’s destinations include Newcastle University for Medicine and Surgery (Tristan Bromelow), Loughborough University for Mechanical Engineering (Ben Carter), University of Southampton for Medicine (Rubyn Dimond), University of Nottingham for Psychology (Jessica Hollingberry) and Pharmaceutical Sciences (Ben Johnson), University of Exeter for Philosophy, Religion and Ethics (George Killick), Cardiff University for Optometry (Lacey Wilden), University of Exeter for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (Alex Richardson), and University of Exeter for Mechanical Engineering (Henry Packham).

Hartpury is also proud that several students are choosing to stay and continue their education within its own university, including Ellie Wilson (BSc (Hons) Sports Business Management) and Max Eite (BSc (Hons) Business Management), who will now progress into Hartpury University programmes in September.

Others are taking exciting alternative paths, such as Niamh Stewart, who will embark on a gap year, and other students are progressing into employment.

Claire Whitworth, Principal of Hartpury College said: “These results are an incredible achievement and a true reflection of the hard work and commitment shown by our students and staff. To achieve such strong outcomes across all qualification types is something we’re hugely proud of. We know these young people will go on to make a positive impact at university, in employment, and in their future careers.”
