Hartpury College celebrated the outstanding achievements of 700 completing students at its annual Prize Day on Friday 19 June, recognising academic excellence, enedeavour, progress, sporting excellence and personal achievement reflecting the dedication that defines the Hartpury community.
Held across two ceremonies, the event welcomed almost 2,000 guests, including students' families, friends, staff, governors, sponsors and special guests, to celebrate one of the highlights of the college calendar.
Among those joining the celebrations were Martin Clunes, Chancellor of Hartpury University and Hartpury College, and former Hartpury student and British Olympian Charlotte Hodgkins-Byrne. Charlotte shared inspiring reflections on her sporting journey, encouraging students as they prepare for the next stage of their education, careers and sporting ambitions.
A total of 79 trophies and awards were presented to students who have excelled and demonstrated exceptional endeavour or progress across Hartpury's specialist subject areas, including Agriculture, Animal Management, Equine, Access to HE, Sport, Outdoor Activities, Uniformed Protective Services and A-levels. The awards recognised not only exceptional academic achievement, but also resilience, commitment, progress and contributions to college life.
Professor Andy Collop, Vice-Chancellor, Executive Principal and CEO of Hartpury University and Hartpury College, congratulated students on their achievements.
"Prize Day is one of the most rewarding occasions in the Hartpury calendar. It gives us the opportunity to celebrate the determination, resilience and success of our students, alongside the support of our dedicated staff, families and industry partners.
"Days like today remind us what makes Hartpury such a special place. Our students are encouraged to challenge themselves, pursue their ambitions and develop the skills and confidence to succeed, whatever path they choose."
The celebrations also featured addresses from College Principal Claire Whitworth, Chair of Governors Edward Keene and Heads of Department, highlighting the achievements of students across the college and recognising the partnerships that help create exceptional opportunities for learners.
Prize Day marked an important milestone for students completing their studies, with many progressing into employment, apprenticeships and higher education, while others will continue their journey at Hartpury University. The event reflected Hartpury's commitment to developing talented, career-ready graduates equipped to make an impact in their chosen industries.
The celebrations concluded with prize winners, sponsors and guests coming together for commemorative photographs, providing a fitting end to a day dedicated to recognising excellence, ambition and achievement across the Hartpury community.
