We provide students with access to world-class equine facilities, including a state-of-the-art rider performance centre with the most advanced riding simulators in the world, a leading equine therapy centre, international competition arenas and stabling for 230 horses.

We provide students with the opportunity to bring their horse (or horses) with them while they study. On-site livery is offered to students on a DIY basis. This is subject to availability as demand is always high.

Our commercial yard enables students to gain a wealth of practical and work experience in all aspects of horse care and management.

Our Margaret Giffen Centre for Rider Performance is the most advanced centre of its kind at an academic institution. It provides the perfect place for students to develop real-world expertise and undertake exciting research, using world-leading equipment and with access to leading industry experts.

Offering a superb learning and research environment, our Equine Therapy Centre allows students to gain real-world experience alongside or as part of their studies. It also provides the base for exciting research around the rehabilitation of horses at a range of levels, undertaken by students and staff at all levels, that's shaping equine therapy and rehabilitation across the globe.

Our arenas provide an excellent teaching environment for students, where they can practice their riding skills as well as getting hands-on experience.

Hartpury’s estate boasts its own commercial Home Farm and students are able to experience milking, calving, lambing and rearing and observe and assist with veterinary procedures on the farm.

Through our new £2million Agri-Tech Centre you’ll gain experience with the latest smart farming technologies and have opportunities to collaborate on real-world projects to improve productivity and profitability across the county.

We are continually developing our animal facilities, which are prioritised to enhance your student experience. They are used for behavioural observations and for impact-driven research, to help solve real-world issues.
