Career Overview

My journey in Anthrozoology and Human-Animal Interaction (HAI) began with a BSc (Hons) Psychology with Animal Behaviour at ARU, master's study and research in Developmental, Social and Health Psychology at Cambridge, followed by almost 2 decades in Maine, USA, completing an Interdisciplinary PhD underpinned by Counsellor Education, focused upon Nature-Based and Animal Assisted Interventions, and researching and teaching. During my time in Maine, I developed and taught courses in Livestock, Companion and Equine Behaviour, Green Care, Animal Assisted Services, Introduction to Disability, Counselling and the Helping Relationship, Ethics and Professionalism, Lifespan Development, Mind-Body Connection, and Equine Nutrition. Additionally, I volunteered with sustainable and organic farming, domestic violence, grieving children, and STEM education groups.

I joined Hartpury University in 2022 and am currently Programme Manager and Senior Lecturer of BSc (Hons) in Human-Animal Interaction with Psychology. My motto in life is Knowledge is only useful if it is shared.
