Dr Ivana Schork

Career Overview

I am a passionate zoologist with a Ph.D. in Animal Behavior and Welfare from the University of Salford, UK. I also hold a Master's degree in Zoology (PUC Minas - Brazil) and a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences (Univali - Brazil). My work, spanning since 2008, encompasses zoology, ethology, and applied ethology, focusing on both wild and domestic species behaviour and welfare. My studies involve mostly mammals using a wide range of methodologies such as behavioural assessments, hormonal measurements, physiology, bioacoustics and the use of novel technologies such as wearable sensors and artificial intelligence (deep learning).

I also have experience working as a field biologist in Brazil assessing wild populations and the impacts of human derived activities, such as mining, on natural communities.
