Career Overview

I joined Hartpury in 2017 as a Lecturer in Animal Science before progressing into the role of Programme Manager for the BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour and Welfare degree where I teach across all stages. I spent several years working with UK animal care businesses, rescue shelters, animal charities, and pet retailers in various roles which resulted in a breadth of experience with domestic and exotic species.

I graduated from the University of the West of England in 2016 and completed a postgraduate MRes degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare the following year. Upon completion of my undergraduate studies, I was humbled to be awarded the BVA Foundation Trophy and later received the Postgraduate Scholarship Prize for top student upon completion of my masters. I developed particular interest in animal cognition and the use of sensory enrichment to enhance animal welfare, and have focussed my research in this area ever since.
