Vicky Melfi

Career Overview

A central theme in my research, teaching and professional activities, is a passion for professional/academic collaborations to gather data to underpin evidence-based practice, to achieve mutual benefits for people, animals and the planet.

I have worked with animal welfare and conservation organisations for over 30 years, and believe that empowering people, with the knowledge and skills needed to implement evidence-based practice, is fundamental to successfully improving human-animal interactions, which result in positive human wellbeing, animal welfare and conservation and, ultimately a healthier planet.
