At Hartpury, we have a great deal of experience of helping students make the transition from school to college life and, for our residential students and their parents, to make the daunting step of moving away from home for the first time as easy as possible!
We know that this can be a worrying time for parents but from the moment students arrive at Hartpury, they will have a network of support around them.
A personal tutor, experienced academic staff and our exceptional facilities – including our new £3.5million College Learning Centre - will help them to reach their academic goals, while our Student Services and Wellbeing teams can help with guidance on everything from finance and accommodation to health and wellbeing, including homesickness!
In 2016, our pastoral care and support for residential students was rated as outstanding by Ofsted, and Department for Education results showed that Hartpury again ranked as the top specialist land-based college in England for its vocational diploma courses.
Our average grade was a Distinction and our students made more progress from their starting points than at any similar college. Our A Level pass rate also rose again in 2016, to 98.8%.
But how we support our College students to be successful in their adult life is just as important to us as grades and qualifications. That’s why they will all complete the unique Hartpury Certificate, which evidences the skills, knowledge and experience they have developed with us, giving them the best possible chance of securing the university place they want and opening doors to their dream careers.
When you become a student at Hartpury, you become part of the ‘pury family’ and we are committed to enabling our students to be ‘the best they can become’ in all aspects of their personal and academic development.
But we want them to have fun too and life at Hartpury is never dull!
They will find everything you need on site, from our very own Costa Coffee bar to restaurants and Heroes common room – a purpose-built chill-out space - while our Students’ Union and events team ensures there’s a wide range of clubs, recreational sport, activities and entertainment on offer all year round.

Choosing where to study is a big decision, for young people and for their parents and guardians, and we’re sure you’ll have a lot of questions. We’re always happy to help but before you pick up the phone or send us an e-mail, why not see if you can find the answer you need in this helpful guide, or better still, come and see us at an Open Day!
We are currently working towards our vision of creating Hartpury College and Hartpury University, two outstanding specialist institutions side-by-side on one campus.
As part of this development, our further education delivery will be moved, on 1st August 2018, to a new wholly owned subsidiary called Hartpury College of Further Education.
As a result of the change all continuing FE students will be transferred to Hartpury College of Further Education on that date.
Hartpury College students’ programmes of study and their qualifications will not be affected. However, should any students or parents have any questions regarding this change please contact: email@example.com
