Level 3 Extended Diploma Sport and Outdoor Activities

Josh Telling

Josh studied Level 3 Extended Diploma Sport and Outdoor Activities at Hartpury and is now the proud business owner of Rapid Skills. When he's not working, he's on expeditions paddling some of the hardest white-water and most remote rivers in the world.

Josh's Hartpury Experience

"I loved the course at Hartpury. I learnt so much about the outdoor industry at Hartpury, not just the practical side but also about customer service and safety. It was fantastic being able to get out twice a week to do activities and not just be based in a classroom. This gave me the opportunity to make lots of great contacts – many of these I still paddle and work with today.

I was the youngest person ever to get put through the PGL Senior Development Paddler scheme. I worked one season for PGL in the Ardeche in France where I achieved my UKCC Level 2, 3, and 4 Star canoe and kayak. I’m now a 5-star white water kayak leader.

I started Rapid Skills in 2018, specialising in kayak and canoe coaching and guiding around the world, safety and rescue and teaching paddlers to become confident leaders and coaches in the sport."
