Sarah Bonar
- Profession:
- GB Junior Rower
Sarah is Hartpury's first ever Great British International rower.
The A Level student, originally from Carbis Bay in Cornwall, was identified as part of the 'Tall and Talented 2016' national campaign and then selected to join the GB Rowing team's 'Start' talent identification programme here at Hartpury.
One of our first students on the elite rowing programme and with no prior rowing experience, it took only two years for Sarah to become a GB junior international. She was chosen to represent her home nation in the Women's Junior Double Scull at the Coupe De La Jeuenesse.
Her aim is to become an Olympic Athlete. Sarah said, “the Academy has been great, providing strength and conditioning, physio support and top class coaching. Also, through the ‘Start’ Programme, I’ve had regular opportunities to test myself against more experienced rowers, which has really helped to push me on.”
