This course is for students who want to develop the theoretical and practical skills to work with horses in the equine industry. Our students have regular equine husbandry, including weekends. It’s therefore compulsory to live in Hartpury accommodation during your studies. You’ll complete internal work experience, throughout both years, as well as an external block in your second year, to develop your skills in a workplace setting.

Gain an understanding of management behind the equine industry. As part of this non-riding course, you’ll study an equine related business module and apply the theory as you take part in practical sessions on our equine yard – we have loan horses for you to work with. You'll complete a four-week block in the industry in both years to gain first hand commercial experience. You'll also be engaged in weekend show duties. Be ready to pursue a wide range of careers within an equine or business environment.

Start your equine career with confidence on our Level 2 Technical Diploma in Equine Studies. This one-year, hands-on course develops the essential skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to work with horses or progress to further study.
