Fitness to practice
Prior to Welcome Week, you will be contacted by University Admissions regarding Fitness to Study, please complete the online form and send this back as soon as possible. Any questions, please contact Admissions directly.
DBS
During your Welcome Week, we'll ask all students to complete their DBS checks. This is due to the nature of the programme and the potential to work with under 18’s or vulnerable adults.
Therefore, please ensure you bring with you 3 forms of ID. Commonly these are made up of the below for UK nationals:

Additional costs
You'll find the kit list for this course above. Final year students are required to complete an external placement. As this is off campus, there may be implicated travel costs associated with this. If you opt for the optional integrated placement year between years 2 and 3, this will incur additional costs.
Pre-arrival activities
It's really useful to get started with some preparation beforehand to assist your learning. The pre-reading recommendations include having awareness of anatomical terminology e.g. movements, direction and positions, bony landmarks terms, structure and types of joints, goal setting SMARTER principle, types of fitness training, structure and function of physiological systems, physiology terminology, types of muscle contraction, SALTAPS, the healing process.
There will be online activities related to this within your Welcome Week.
It's also useful to start to observe people walking. What does their posture look like? Are they equal on both sides? What is their stride length like? This will form part of discussions later on in the semester in the Fundamental Skills module.
