Applying to Hartpury University

It’s never too early to start thinking about your future and there’s a lot to consider when applying for university. 

We review every part of your application – your qualifications, personal statement, references and relevant experience – to decide if you will be a good fit for Hartpury and your chosen course. Here's everything you need to know about applying.

Application tips

  • Be clear about key application, decision and reply dates. You can find up-to-date deadlines on the UCAS website
  • Find out more about Hartpury and your chosen course on our website. If you can, attend an open event where you can talk to lecturers and students. Our virtual tour is also available for you to familiarise yourself with our campus
  • Gain course-relevant experience. This'll help you understand more about the course before you begin studying
  • Begin preparing your application well in advance, this'll give you plenty of time to ensure you're happy with it
  • Once you have an offer, come to one of our applicant days to delve more deeply into your course and life at Hartpury

What happens after I apply?

We can only look at your application once we have received your application form and all supporting documents. You’ll then receive one of the following decisions by email and invite you to an interview:

Conditional offer

You still need to submit outstanding documents. Your place is dependent on the achievement and/or evidence of certain qualifications.

If you have already achieved them please submit evidence. If you are currently studying them or waiting for results please submit them when you have received them.

Unconditional offer

You meet the entry criteria specified and have submitted all necessary documents. Your offer will stay in place until you confirm whether you'd like to accept or decline. If you accept, you’ll be required to pay a deposit.

Alternative course

You don't meet the entry criteria / we feel another course may be more suitable.


You don't meet the entry criteria. Where possible we will try to match you with an alternative course.
