Hartpury lecturers worked tirelessly to help me make the most of my course. Thanks to their support, I had the opportunity to deliver nutritional workshops to the England Walking Football teams and led another for the Gloucester County Cricket Club youth team.
The lecturers are one of my favourite parts of Hartpury – they’re all intelligent and well-versed in the programmes they teach. It’s nice to learn from professionals who have gone through it all, especially from guest lecturers, which I love, as they provide opportunities to hear different stories.
I set up my business in 2018 and enjoying every minute thanks to the support and encouragement I received from my tutors at Hartpury. From studying at Hartpury to attending Hartpury events with the business, I have had a full-circle experience, it’s a great feeling.
The lecturers are passionate about their subjects and helping people. It's like being coached rather than taught, because of the specialist skillset and real experiences they have.
When I visited, I could see that it had everything I needed to be the best both on and off the pitch and that has definitely been the case. I also realised that you’re not just a number at Hartpury University– the lecturers know you by person and that was a big plus for me.
I’ve already been at Millbrook Academy getting teaching experience, which gives me the chance to put everything I learn in the classroom into practice. I’ve been responsible for planning and delivering high quality PE and extra-curricular activities across all key stages and I’ll be doing even more placement hours there in my second year.
The support I received from Hartpury is one of the main reasons the company is up and running today. I had so much support from Simon Spooner and all the ICE team, special thanks to Lucy Scannell and Vicki Crossland. I will always be grateful for the help and funding I received from Hartpury.
In the first year of my degree studies, I took on responsibility for my own group of junior rowers at Gloucester Rowing Club and was involved with coaching the novice athletes on the Gloucester Hartpury programme.
Being surrounded by top-class facilities and support staff on a daily basis all contribute to you achieving your desired performance levels, both on and off the field.
You have this feeling of wanting to develop yourself and others around you, pushing yourself to be better, academically and practically. Hartpury has an elite sporting environment so from the moment you step on the campus you get every opportunity to go on and achieve your dreams either as an athlete or coach.
