Your Students’ Union

Hartpury has its’ own Students Union, and with a variety of societies and clubs, plus recreational sport opportunities to choose from, you are bound to find something to get involved in!

Hartpury life can be quite demanding so it is important that you get the right balance of ‘work and play’. From the moment you arrive on campus, Fresher’s Week presents plenty of opportunities to socialise and get to know those that you will be living with and those who are on your course.

At the Fresher’s Fair, you can join clubs and societies, find out about the opportunities to get involved and discover what support is available to you, as well as bagging some great freebies from local companies!

And if you’re interested in starting your own club or society, the SU want to hear your ideas!

Our events team run activities and entertainment on offer throughout the year as well as fortnightly weekend trips off campus. We run pool tournaments, quiz and film nights, fancy dress parties plus excursions to places such as Bath, London and Oxford and Christmas shopping and ice-skating trips.

Themed nights and live music are always popular. In the last few years, this has included the likes of Chase & Status, Wretch 32, Katie B; Labrinth, who played at last year’s Summer Ball; Pendulum, DJ Fresh and Tinchy Stryder; alongside DJs such as Greg James, Scott Mills, Jaguar Skills and Benga.

The Students’ Union can also provide you with opportunities to get involved in charity work, volunteering, employability support, campaigning and representing the student voice. Here’s a taster of some of the clubs and activities on offer at Hartpury.

“With the Hartpury campus being out in the countryside, I was a bit worried about whether there would be a good social scene here. I needn’t have worried though. There are always taxis going to and from the campus and you can always count on Gloucester being full of Hartpury students on nights out, especially for the student nights. There’s lots happening on campus too. The pub quizzes in Hartpury’s Legends Bar are always popular and a really good laugh. There are also weekend trips that run to major cities throughout the year that people really enjoy.”
