Tuition fees

Studying for a degree at Hartpury is a great investment in your future. Tuition fees are one of the main costs of studying at university. At Hartpury, your tuition fees cover a variety of costs including the teaching of lectures, tutorials, lab sessions, library and IT facilities.

The tuition fees also contribute to the running of a vibrant student community.

The fees detailed below are for students enrolling for the academic year 2023/24. These fees may change in future years.

Your first year costs in one easy package

We offer an all-inclusive fee package of £19,500 for our first-year international undergraduate and top-up students. This enables you to pay the bulk of the ‘extras’ in advance so you have less to organise!

This package covers the following for your first year at Hartpury:

  • Your first year tuition fees
  • On-site accommodation
  • Three catered meals a day, seven days a week
  • Bed linen (including pillows and duvet)
  • Crockery and cutlery pack
  • Gym membership
  • Transfers between the airport to Hartpury at the start of the year and holidays

Paying your fees

Tuition fees are due at the start of each academic year of your studies. Half of your annual tuition fee is paid before you arrive at Hartpury in order to obtain your visa (if required). The remaining fees are due before you arrive on campus in September. You can pay your fees on the Hartpury online store.

Hartpury has a number of scholarships and bursaries available to support students from outside the UK.

For emerging trailblazers from outside the UK to utilise their Hartpury undergraduate or postgraduate qualification to grow the industries of equine, sport, agriculture and animal.

Whilst there is no typical award winner, we're looking for individuals who have the passion, ideas and enthusiasm to develop the industry to create a better future.

A number of scholarships of £3,000 are available to support international students to join and thrive at Hartpury University.

The Andrew Beacham Awards give aspiring, talented rugby players from South Africa and Zimbabwe the financial support to follow their dreams by providing annual tuition fee reductions.

This bursary offers £500 cash per year for the duration of the programme. This bursary is available to:

  • Further education students progressing directly from a Hartpury College further education course on to degree study at Hartpury University
  • Access to HE Diploma students progressing directly from a Hartpury College Access programme on to degree study at Hartpury University
  • For internal and external applicants enrolling onto a degree top-up programme who have achieved a pass of 60% or equivalent in their qualifying award (cash payment)

These scholarships are open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students who are part of sports academies and are awarded by the sports academies.

Email sports academy 

A £1,000 scholarship aimed to support student access trips/visits and rewarding academic achievement. Application for this scholarship is to be made in writing outlining the value of the study opportunity to the programme and future career. Academic results and demonstrable engagement with the programme will be considered.

If you’re looking to study a PhD, one of the most attractive sources of funding is a studentship, which will normally cover your tuition fees and living costs. Doctoral studentships, usually attached to a specific project, are offered by universities, government bodies and independent research charities.

Studentship scheme

All Hartpury University graduates receive a 20% discount for studying a master's course with us, and 10% from professional course fees. It's a great way to develop your specialist subject expertise and employability as part of a passionate academic community that's familiar to you.

If you’re looking to study an MSc or MRes qualification at Hartpury, you may be able to apply for one of our teaching assistant roles. This will provide you with up to 15 hours of academic work each week, valuable experience, in exchange for a salary to support your studies.

All MRes students can apply for a £1,000 bursary to support a specific and valuable element of their research project. This can be applied for once studies have commenced.
