Students who begin in elite sport environments can move into leadership, performance management or commercial roles. Equine graduates often progress from hands-on roles into areas like business management, consultancy, marketing or entrepreneurship. That progression is built into the Hartpury experience. Through our 3,000-strong business network, students develop professional connections and gain industry exposure through placements, field trips, live projects, guest speakers and careers events. Domestic and international work placements mean your degree can take you across the UK and around the world. As a result, 95% of graduates progress into employment, further study or other purposeful activity within 15 months (Graduate Outcomes, 2025), surpassing the national average.
Many Hartpury graduates demonstrate how varied those journeys can become. Sophia Jones, a BA (Hons) Equine Business Management graduate, combined her passion for horses with commercial skills before progressing onto a graduate scheme with KPMG — showing how an equine-focused degree can lead directly into a global business career.
Emily Tate, who originally came to Hartpury with a strong equine background, discovered an interest in sport business and social media during her studies. After completing her BA (Hons) Sports Business Management degree, she progressed into a role as an Events and Marketing Executive with GP Management, working on luxury corporate hospitality and Formula One events. Her journey demonstrates how a passion-led degree can evolve into a career in events, marketing and global sport business.
